I thought I might title this blog post with a funnier title, something that would grab you. It’s almost Halloween and I am utterly amazed at how I have seen the continuous support of people, strangers. I have seen LOVE come to pass in so many ways in my travels.

I am amazed at the POWER of LOVE. Where do I begin?

Yesterday I was at the world famous Berlin club called Berghain. My new Spanish friend and I got in. I couldn’t believe it, well because apparently they rejected all these “normally” dressed people. I guess it pays to be weird. There was this “walk of shame” where the rejects would walk backward…and yes, everyone in line saw them walking away in shame….I didn’t like how the bouncer shoved me to get padded down at the women’s line.

We got in because my friend said “it’s because I’m homosexual”.

I thought about how he manifested us getting in because of his unwavering certainty in the fact that if he was gay, he would definitely get in. I believe that this power called “belief” can get us in anywhere we want. It could be as crazy as, “because I’m Asian I’ll get into any university” or “because I’m hot I get into any club” (this is a belief I have held onto and yes, it works”.

SO this blog post is called Kicking Karma’s Ass because I don’t really believe in Karma, I believe we should rename it…we should name it LOVE.

Love expands, fear constricts us.

Walking down the street, I say a little prayer for each person and I try to smile at them.

Some people don’t smile at me but some do. In Amsterdam, an angel gave me water when I couldn’t move in bed. She said, whatever you need, I’m here for you. I meet her in Berlin, by accident, by divine order, we end up in the same hostel. There is a man who is suffering from a broken heart, he lost his business and is under depression. I give him granola bars and a quote, words of encouragement. Kindness towards a stranger.

Because of love, the world is a better place. Because of love, genuine friendship, commonalities, I am invited to go to a club with a new friend. Because of love, and simplicity, I share simple moments of conversation with 3 boys from Afghanistan. They stuff my face with cake in kindness. Because of love I am able to smile at a little girl named Medino and build a relationship for a few days while I am here.

She laughs at me with genuine simplicity, love, kindness. She is a little girl, a cherished little girl. I give her pen and paper to draw, next thing you know we are eating together. We can’t communicate through language, only gestures. Yesterday she was being a little brat so I left dinner early, but she will always be in my heart, as also a reflection of the little girl in me.

I love the little girl in me, I will never neglect what that little girl wants.

All of life is love, without love and an open heart we cannot receive.

Do not keep good from those who should have it, when it is in your power to do it. Do not say to your neighbor, “Go, and return tomorrow, and I will give it,” when you have it with you.

I have found this to be true. You see, I am traveling with an insane budget, and somehow God has expanded that money. At every opportunity that I have been given to see a need, I have been able to give…especially food. I have been sharing food with those that seem hungry in the hostels. This has given me a lot of pleasure because I know that people have helped me the same….especially people who are hungover and can’t move.

I realized that when you withhold from others what you can give them now, out of fear of lack, the same will happen to you…and this isn’t karma, this is just how like attracts like. You see, I realized that when I live out of an open heart that there is ALWAYS more than enough and that material things are always circulating, you don’t hold onto much. I have also tried to see the good in people and because of that, I have almost always come into contact with strangers that have the best intention.

Now I constantly ask myself if I am acting in fear or love. In moments of fear, we constrict our bodies and we make bad decisions. It doesn’t hurt to ask ourselves, close our eyes and breathe. How does this decision make me feel?

If you feel good, your heart is expanding, you are acting in love.

If you feel bad, and your heart feels constricted, you are acting in fear.

I left my 9 to 5 job 3 years ago without knowing what or how I would pay for rent, work, eat. I had no backup plan. In the beginning it was tough, my courage faltered many times. Why It’s Important to Trust People – DUH

Learning to trust may not be an easy thing.

Learning to trust yourself, trust the universe, trust in your friends, trust people, trust a bus driver that almost crashed into another car, or fell asleep at the wheel, trusting that while today might not be your last day on this earth, you’ll be alright. Life is much easier when you can learn to trust people. I did not grow up trusting people, I was told to trust myself and God. People were not included in the equation. I learned to do everything myself, but realized that I became sort of a control freak.

Now it’s not always easy to let go and to trust people, but it’s always important to trust that you are trustworthy enough that you attract trustworthy people. Now, there’s something about asking for help, whether it’s at a hostel or on a street and simply being vulnerable that allows others to help you. It’s also important, if you believe in a higher power, that that higher power nudges at people and gives people the desire to help you. So actually, nothing on this earth is done without people. People are always in the equation, unless some house falls from the sky and provides shelter for you, you will always have to deal and work with people.

This means you can’t be a hermit, you’ll have to trust people you do business with, people you talk to or ask for directions, people who cooks your food, people who drives the metro, etc. Once you are out the door, you are constantly having complete certainty that you will not flip over and fall into some abyss, because you have faith that reality is real.

5 Ways To Travel Cheap

Most people think they need thousands of dollars, tens of thousands to travel so they NEVER do it.

Well, it’s actually quite affordable if you’re willing to tumble a little in bunk beds, like little kids do. I don’t mind it, I can sleep anywhere, I’m the best plane sleeper. I fall asleep right when I buckle up and even before they make those important announcements about flotations or something. I can sleep for hours on buses and time usually goes by pretty fast for me since I do my reflection on there.

Amsterdam hostel, if you can sleep to clubbing music then you should go to this hostel. There’s a cute little cat I like to nap with.

These are the hostels I’ve stayed at:

Hootananny hostel- about 15 pounds in the 8 bed room (London)

Leidseplein Hostel- about 9.99 Euros in a 12 bed room (Amsterdam)

Okay, get ready for this, I just booked hostels in Prague for 2.5 euros, I know, I’m not sure if I booked the right maximum amount of nights so I hope it worked, but that is about 25 euros for 10 nights.

So basically I’m staying around 15 US dollars for each night.

If you’re like me, you love cooking, well I love it.

I’ve made loads of good foods, including ramen (well, that’s not THAT great, but throw in an egg or kale and you got a gourmet ramen which would probably have cost 15 euros).

How Law Of Attraction Has Worked In My Life

I am a huge believer that your mind, your thoughts makes who you are. The very substance of your being is your mind because before you do something, you think about it. You think about getting a cup of coffee, so you get up from the couch and make coffee, or perhaps you go out to buy coffee. Everything you do forms from your mind, perhaps even deeper, your desires.

I have seen the law of attraction work in my life, though since I also believe in the existence of God, I know that God created human beings to be super powers, creators of our own lives. People like to separate spirituality from science, but I believe that with proven quantum physics, etc, that we are miracle workers, every single one of us.

Now, I have always gotten exactly what I wanted in life. Sometimes I complain that I don’t have enough, but I think that I never asked for that much because my hidden desires were not what I asked for. Instead, I asked for dollar amount. The dollar amount if empty, it has no value. It is the desire to which you would like to use the dollars for that drives the universe. For example, perhaps you want to make $500,000 or become a millionaire, but you have no reason for why you want to make that much money….then you will not attain it because you have no good reason for it.

Instead, ask for that which you want to experience in life, such as traveling, attaining some clothes, goods, having a remodeled kitchen, car, going on a trip with friends, getting a scuba diving license, etc. You see, sometimes I wonder whether I am truly a success in life, I’m 26 and some people in my life (which I have kicked out of my life) thought that I was living an unstable life. But I have been able to do everything I have wanted to do in life and the only thing that made me feel unsuccessful was thinking about what others thought about me. Why do we focus on those few leeches when most people are cheering you on? Let go of those people, fast.

Being rich isn’t about having dollar amounts in the bank account, it’s about being able to live the life you want. So you have to know what you want to do with your life, what you want and who you want to live it with.

I am truly blessed because I have always challenged the world, grasped my dreams and ran with it. Some people think I’m crazy but I’ve been able to travel to Australia, Ecuador, Brazil, Taiwan and Europe in the last 3 years while being self-employed, I’ve been able to lounge on beaches, live in bigger and bigger places with sheer will, and sometimes not knowing where money would come from. You see, the universe conspires for you, for your dreams if only you will dream, if only you will ACT upon your dreams. God is waiting to see HOW MUCH you actually want your dreams.

I was willing to clean out my apartment before I went on my trip because yes, I will sell everything I have, all my material possessions for a few days on the road, to meet strangers who become friends, to experience a transcendental transformation inside and out, to experience miracles, to challenge myself to the unknown.

You see, this is the attitude that gets you what you want in life. I am willing to do anything it takes to get what I want. Most people don’t, they’re not willing to leave their comfort zone. They say, “I want this, but only if it is easy or if I can go with a friend”. You must become the person who will be able to contain what you want, a steward of that which you attract.

What It’s Really Like To Live In A Hostel

Some people get freaked out when I tell them I’m staying at a hostel.

Well, it’s not that scary. Movies like Taken and Hostel just instills fear in people, it keeps people from traveling because they think traveling has to cost a lot. Well, it doesn’t have to cost a lot. Plus, people think the world is a dangerous place or that perhaps they’ll get slaughtered and cut up or locked up in the basement of a hostel (aka the movies).

Here are some friends I’ve made in London (at the hostel). You meet a lot of life-long friends and you can travel with them 🙂

This is us the other night, we found the only hip hop club in London, after much persistence the DJ finally played DRAKE. Then we hit up another electronic and house club and sure enough, it was what I expected of the UK. Well, I didn’t expect so many hipsters. Brixton is the place to be and if you want to stay at a fun hostel, try Hootannany Hostel. There’s a great bar downstairs, I’ve gotten used to the noise with ear plugs, nothing can wake me up!

I have been called unstable because I have a vision. How ironic. I have been called unstable because I choose to leave my home and travel to the unknown and foreign land by myself, and be inspired by the road.

People don’t have to understand the vision, but people really don’t need to judge. But most people judge because they are jealous of you, because most people are scared of change. Enjoy my commentary.

: not stable : not firm or fixed : not constant: as- It’s so hilarious because life is unfixed, life is constantly changing even if you choose to hold onto anything, you are constantly getting older, your body is always aging, you are either growing or digressing, pick what you may.

a : not steady in action or movement : irregular <an unstable pulse>- How ironic. Entrepreneurs are CONSTANTLY moving.

b : wavering in purpose or intent : vacillating- Entrepreneurs have 1 purpose, to figure out a better way of life, business, and lifestyle. They are searching for more, they are searching for truth, for a better and faster way to make more income in less time. Entrepreneurs survive in tough times BECAUSE they have a purpose.

3 REASONS WHY ENTREPRENEURS ARE THE MOST STABLE PEOPLE:

1. When all hell breaks loose and a company has no money to pay their employees, entrepreneurs always have a job because they learn to monetize their talents and skills. They will always know how to make income, leave them on the streets, and they will sell something, whether its telling jokes or drawing cartoons on the street.

2. Entrepreneurs learn how to master themselves. They learn to grow with the times and gradually rise to the top…such as riding a wave, you ride it slowly, but steadily and before you know it, you’ve made it to the top of the game and guess what, nobody can bitch!

3. Since we’ve already been through eating ramen for breakfast and selling parts of our dignity to make it in our business, we know that little setbacks aren’t the ends of us. So when other people freak out about first world problems like how the Starbucks lady is super slow making their lattes, we are quietly thanking them because we remember when we couldn’t even afford a cup of coffee. Personally, I have been there, so now I am extra thankful for every gift and every dollar that I am given or make. So guess what, most of us are a lot more resilient and a lot more stable because we’re not going to bitch out on small things…..we’ve seen worse, we’ve been through hell. I know some people have had to make big sacrifices to pursue their dreams, but guess what, ride the waves, ride it and don’t give up…and one day you’ll look down and see that it was all worth it.

3 Reasons Why It’s Important To Become An Adult

It’s important to separate yourself from your parents. This seems obvious, but for some families, especially Asian ones, it is not always easy to do so because you are expected to act like babies your whole life, or to heed the advice of your parents until you become an adult – and this adult phase only happens because you’re married.

It’s important to become intellectual adults that make decisions for yourself at one point in your life, like now….would be great.

It is amazing that even after being self-employed and pretty much fully supported yourself for years, people still have so many opinions about how you should live your life. Don’t cave in, remember stay true to your vision. At one point, you need to cut the ties. It might seem cruel at first, because of course I have no idea how it is to be a parent…however, I know that control is control, there is no way of putting it nicely.

Here are 3 reason why it is important to become an adult:

Whatever your definition of adult is, here’s mine – someone who is capable of making their own decisions and who takes full responsibility for their own lives.

Reason #1: You can fully function in the world, choose what you want in life, and live the life you have always dreamed of. Remember those dreams you had about becoming a world class pilot? Remember those dreams you had about becoming an actress? Oh remember those dreams you had about helping people in need?

Oh right, it all got squashed because your parents wanted you to go to the school they attended, become the person they never became, work the job they never succeeded in. Okay, wow, that sucks.

Yah, don’t give in. Love comes from freedom, not control. Love frees us, it does not suffocate. And just because some relative lived a shit life, it doesn’t mean you will too. Learn from people who became successful, not people who failed at life because they didn’t take ownership of their life….how about all the entrepreneurs who failed miserably, but became great successes because they didn’t give UP?

Reason #2: No one likes a mama’s boy.

I’m sorry, no one likes a mama’s boy. No woman. And for woman, well, no one likes a spoiled lady either. It’s all nice and dandy when you’re 16, but when you are 36 and still calls your mom to ask how to use the washer, um, yah, not going to work for many. If you are looking to partner up and settle down, become an adult first.

Reason #3: Freedom

Freedom. If you are able to fend for yourself, without parents, without a partner, you can do anything in life. You can climb mountains in the jungles, hike up trails forbidden to mankind, and backpack in Europe for 4 months, why not? No one can say anything because well, you forgot to bring your phone and you actually don’t answer to anyone. And guess what, when you have reached the heights of goddesses, you have become like God, you are unique and an individual who doesn’t care about what people think.

This, is true greatness. And then you become attractive, you attract and inspire others who will in turn inspire you as well.

And I say all this, the day before I go off to Europe….do I have it all together, no…but I’ve made it to step 65 of 100, I think I’ve gone a far ways from 2 months ago. Life can be incredible if we make enough space for our dreams.

Living Your Personal Legend

As I sat outside in the patio taking in the night, I came across Oprah and Paulo Coelho’s interview. I watched it, and was intrigued. I had always heard about The Alchemist, but had never read it. A few days later, I found myself glancing at Oprah’s face in the news stands. You see, I have about 10 magazine subscriptions and always get them for free with my mileage points, so it made no sense to buy one magazine full price. But I remembered a story from my client about how she was totally broke and something in her told her to buy a magazine, in it was a job that got her into the industry she was supposed to be in. You see, she used what little she had and paid in faith. She was rewarded well for her faith. I always remember that story.

Anyways, I bought that Oprah magazine and went to eat lunch. At lunch I noticed yet again Oprah and Paulo Coelho’s interview. I read it. A few days later, I found myself wanting to go to Vroman’s and I bought that 25th anniversary edition. You see, in 1988 Paulo published The Alchemist, this was the year I was born. You might think it is all a coincidence, but I think not. You see when I read about the omens in the book, about how God sends us messages through people and omens, I knew that my life has always been that way. Everything in my life was orchestrated for me to live my Personal Legend, as The Alchemist describes.

You see, if life was simply about attaining wealth, learning to love and be loved by people, attaining things…it would be, well, so practical. Our lives are spiritual journeys into greater destinies and I see our lives as legends. You see, the reason movies are so captivating is because people in movies actually GO AFTER WHAT THEY WANT. You see a man who loves a woman, he chases after her despite continued rejection or obstacles. You see woman living their dreams, dancing on stages around the world. The heroes overcome the obstacles which prevent them from living their highest callings.

In real life, well, we often settle. How many of us are actually living our Personal Legends?

We overdose on alcohol, drugs, sedatives, food, media, useless articles and videos only to confuse our hearts. We refuse to face our hearts because we have disappointed ourselves for far too long. Perhaps you have decided to ignore the little voice within that tells you to make a move, to make a change…because change, can be uncomfortable.

Paulo experienced “one of the definining moments of his life: he walked the five hundred- plus mile Road of Santiago de Compostela in northwestern Spain. On this ancient highway, used for centuries by pilgrims from France to get to the cathedral said to house the remains of St. James, he achieved a self-awareness and a spiritual awakening that he later described in The Pilgrimage”

I believe that when we leave everything we know or are comfortable behind, something miraculous happens; actually in that personal spiritual awakening of love do we truly walk into the authentic destiny we were meant to walk.

You see I believe that whoever I have connected with, even by reading their book, I have now agreed to carry their torch. It’s been 25 years since this book has been written. Many spiritual and political leaders are aging and tiring out. It’s time for my generation of people (20’s and 30’s) to wake up. A few days ago, I had an Art Show and Party. I gave a very relaxed presentation reading of my ebook and 2 secrets of how to live your personal destiny. Someone mentioned that it should be called Ted Talk in the Living Room. I realized that I could deliver my message in any format I wanted to, in jeans, in shorts, in a t-shirt. I realized that I didn’t have to wear uptight dresses or have my makeup be perfect. Maybe my audience are actually people who want to be authentic in every way, completely themselves, no pretentiousness.
