The Heart Of An Artist

4f09ddee66646

The heart of an artist

longs for freedom, expression, paradise,

it longs to be free of responsibility so that it could create without hindrances, walls, stipulations, manipulation, weight.

Artists long for the freest and highest form of expression and we seek for expression our whole lives. Listen to the desires of your hearts, it is this long forgotten self that is screaming for attention. Our world has long forgotten the cries of the soul. Let freedom ring and let it ring louder.

How Teaching Yoga & Meditation Has Helped To Build Community

I’m a community advocate & leader. I believe in building community WHEREVER I am. Los Angeles can isolate people pretty easily, especially since our meet-ups and hang outs are predestined by TRAFFIC hours, between 7-10am or 3:30-6:30pm. Forget about driving anywhere. I have mastered LA traffic as you can see. I live 25 miles away from my closest friends but that doesn’t stop me from seeing them.

However, due to scheduling and busy lives, it is EASY not to see someone for 6 months or even a year….sometimes even a few years. It might sound ridiculous for some non-LA folks, but in a city, people tend to be pre-occupied.

When I first started teaching my Yoga and Meditation class, my goal was to bring people together and cultivate a culture of peace and relaxation. I also wanted to build a culture of being instead of doing. As an entrepreneur, I found that when I breathed and slowed down, I was able to focus better. When I took days off to get away, I was able to create space for growth and inspiration.

THE WHOLE CONCEPT OF PUSH, PUSH, PUSH until something gives in to you…that’s masculine energy, we’ve been taught that our WHOLE lives. Don’t get me wrong, the only reason I am writing this is because I have very aggressive and go – getter attitude. I get THINGS DONE.

Teaching Yoga and Meditation and seeing the same people, new people every week has helped me to link up with my friends and new friends. We’re not the type of class that says…”goodbye see you next week” – some of us hang out after class. I’ve become friends with all of my students. They’re not really my students, they’re my colleagues in this universe of growth and learning. That’s why it’s different….it’s about an inner transformation, not just about trying to do poses that look impressive.

I hope you’ll join us this THURSDAY for our Yoga and Meditation Class & Party!

Divine Alignment in Business

fly

What is divine alignment?
It is the idea that there is a greater force placing you with the right people at the right time. Whether you are spiritual, new age, or perhaps believe in molecules aligning…divine alignment brings ease, grace and rest into your life.

I don’t believe in working hard, I believe in working smart.

I have tons of people ask me what I spend most of my time on in terms of my career and entrepreneurial journey. I live in divine alignment, so I am aligned in my spirit and my being wherever and whenever. Most of the time, divine alignment actually springs from passion and desires in our hearts. I don’t define my spirit being as a entrepreneur, realtor, speaker…I am Rebekka, don’t corner me into a job title. That is just TOO small for me. I’m an art form, I create like a moving artwork.

Well, don’t most people live the way the want to?

No, actually a lot of people live out of other peoples’ expectations for their lives. Perhaps you hear this “you should do this….or that”. Even you feel guilty doing what you love. Maybe you love painting for fun or you love skateboarding instead of wearing a suit to work everyday. Maybe you love pastries and wine tasting. Anything can be a career, anything can be a business.

Divine alignment happens when we decide to honor our desires and dreams and discipline our minds to think positively….it happens when our minds are completely transformed to submit to the divine power that is everywhere and in you.

I do a lot of things that people don’t consider work, it is because I am listening to my heart and spirit to go wherever….it springs from pure passion for everything I value. Because I live out of pure passion and love, I attract the type of connections that lead me to the right opportunities for me to work in a way that expresses my highest being.

I value people, community, trust, freedom, fun, celebration, beauty, wealth, success, health and friendship.

Because I know my values, I attract like-minded people and stay away from people that try to change my values. Every boundary I set is intentional. Every habit I live by is intentional. I weed out hindrances or weight, I stay away from drama or drama queens and kings…I simplify my life with great people and opportunities to grow as a human and spiritual being.

Some people complain about their lives, but maybe it is because they are not WILLING to let go of the negative influences in their lives. You can’t welcome a new future while holding onto the past.

I believe each one of us are spiritual beings that were put on this earth to heal each other. None of us are perfect, we’re not just on earth to survive, we’re on this earth to FLOURISH and to become the most beautiful beings that we can possibly be. The human heart comes alive when we touch each other with a healing hand, encouragement, story…movie, expression, music, art, whatever it is.

4 Things You Must Do As An Entrepreneur

DSC_0015 DSC_0019 DSC_0084 DSC_0116 DSC_0119-2

Come join us for this coming Thursday’s Yoga and Meditation class- 7-8pm

1. Write down what your PRIORITIES are-

If your priorities is to grow your business and learn as much as you can about your business, going to VEGAS may not be what is in your budget or even time and energy. If your priorities is to develop strategies in your business, then hanging out with friends who just want to have fun all the time is not on your TO DO list. If you are trying to create a new business or website, maybe you have marketing expenses, you’ll have to skip the weddings and birthday parties. Obviously, there are times that going to those events are advantageous, but you learn to cut out “niceties” – things that you do because you feel bad or because you “should” versus you “want to”.

2. Shrug your shoulder and back to most of the world-

Most of the world only cares about the external world. Most people only care about what people think. You turn your head and look the other way. As an entrepreneur you must seek time alone to reflect and learn, go deeper so you can grow in an exponential and personal way. You must go against the grain in many areas in your life. There are things that people will just not understand, but you do not have to try to fit into their thinking.

3. Do It Now-

You must act quickly on your ideas. The more you have something on your mind, the more it’s the universe’s way of telling you “DO IT”. I could have waited and “thought about” all the things I wanted to do – this is what most people do. They think about traveling, they think about creating their own business, they think about falling in love, they think about moving….while people were thinking, I hopped onto planes and backpacked to Ecuador, Australia, Brazil, Asia, I tried so many businesses that your head would spin if you had to do it yourself. While people were thinking, I tried different jobs, everything from marketing to business development, I moved 3 times. I designed Halloween costumes, became a columnist for a newspaper, became a Leasing manager (minus the desk), tutored mandarin, taught cello and piano, became a Real Estate agent, developed a coaching course, created my own Yoga and Meditation class…and do I still long to be tied to a desk? Do I long for stability, no. The instability of entrepreneurship outweighs the stability of clinging onto a job I hate. Because my life is unstable, I can take commercial acting classes on sunday nights and attend my cousin’s performance at the W Hotel on a random weeknight. Because my life is unstable, I can schedule my own yoga classes. Because life is unstable, I can book a flight to Israel and ride camels if I wanted to.

4. Don’t be FOMO-

Don’t have the fear of missing out. This is especially for people like me – who are extroverted and love people pleasing, NO, just say no. You do not have to attend every single networking and social event!!! People ask me LEFT AND RIGHT to attend their events. I pick and choose carefully, do network but be selective. Listen to that inner voice, there is only 1 of you. I have gotten most of my leads, clients, opportunities from networking.

Come join us for this coming Thursday’s Yoga and Meditation class- 7-8pm

922 E Huntington Drive San Marino

Above you will see some of the pictures of the Yoga and Meditation class I teach each Thursday. This class begun with my own passion of fitness and seeking deeper in times of entrepreneurial stress. I realized that everyone is looking for a place to be, to sit still and to find their core.

The Entrepreneurial Path

XOP_7415

The entrepreneurial path is probably the most difficult path anyone will ever take…I mean, anyways, seems like it.

As I sit in my bed, feeling elated after teaching my yoga and meditation class, I feel a sense of contribution…that I have contributed something worthy to peoples’ lives.

My entrepreneurial path is like a roller coaster. Most people see the smiley faces, but they have no idea what I look like when I’m depressed, when I cry or when I’m just plain angry. Since life is unstable for most entrepreneurs, we often go from supremely happy to extremely depressed. These are personal faces I show to myself and to close friends around me. I’m human too though. In fact, being an entrepreneur has forced me to confront negative and limiting beliefs that was hindering my growth. You see, your mindset and beliefs about how life should be IS EVERYTHING.

Every SINGLE thing around you was CHOSEN by you.

The clothes you wear, the people you choose to spend time with, the things you choose to buy, the furniture around you…the people you choose to associate yourself with, it’s ALL YOU baby.

Yep, and as I face this fact, I am slowly unraveling the consequences of my choices as well as letting go of the past so that I can move forward. In order to live a better life, you have to let go of your past life. Our minds are creatures of habit, we need to reinvent our thoughts so we can progress to a better thinking, which will lead to – hopefully what we envision.

The entrepreneurial path is full of excitement, I have no set schedule, I determine my destiny…but it is also easy to get distracted by the plethora of unnecessary news flooding facebook and social media. Where is there one place I can be still and be? (Yoga/Meditation).

My hour of teaching has helped even myself set intentions and center my core.

My days are flooded with demands from work, training people, marketing, social media, bookkeeping, I do it all. I’m now at a place in life where I realize I must delegate so I have the energy to renew my strategies and at times, seriously, REST.

I feel a rush of various emotions I can’t really explain…I’ll have to write a poem:

Mondays are fundays, I laugh with comedic individuals and pretend to fly like a bird

Tuesdays I dive into work like a monkey frantic for acceptance and bananas

Wednesdays I pluck cello strings with students and run wild to networking events

Thursdays I hone into my to-do list and wash dishes on breaks

Fridays I convene with like minded individuals and cast lots to break a leg

Saturday I write poetry and newspaper articles, while making up readable blog posts

Sundays I attend 4 hours of acting class and watch myself cook dried chicken on the stove

Yah, so that’s my poem. Things are coming easier to me these days because I have determined that business will come easily to me. I am proud to say that I will be on an official interview podcast on July 7! Some people ask me how I get all these opportunities, I don’t get them honey, I look for and ask for them.

But enough asking, I’ve sown my seeds, now I am welcoming all the harvest to hurry up and come forth. Now my sacrifice is to rest….interesting how resting is a sacrifice for me. I can’t help being a GET IT DONE kind of woman.

I am a tiger, I get things done, that’s all I have got to say.

When You Feel Faint

In our weakest moments, we find the twinkling light, a faint inspiration, maybe life is worth living, maybe I can get up off this floor, maybe I can run the last stretch, maybe I can love again, maybe I can allow myself to shed a tear, maybe I can connect my emotions with my head, maybe my legs won’t shatter into a thousand pieces after running after faint illusions of what I thought was my path

We run until we are homesick, running and trying to fly
only to be stuck on this earth
hoping that we can go home some day
wherever home is, the adventure heart
often when I am home too long, I start to feel faint and
I realize, I need to fly again

Every Decision You Make Creates Your Destiny

Image

Did you know that EVERY decision you make creates your destiny?

Did you know every thought you CHOOSE to dwell on creates your destiny?

Did you know that you can live your dreams by deciding what to listen to, what to watch, who you hang out with, what you choose to do, what websites you look at, what books you read, what reaction you choose to act on. What choices you make every single day…CREATES your destiny.

I haven’t always made the best choices, but I want to say that I have consciously chosen most of my decisions in life. Some people look at others and think “they must be lucky”, they were just in the right place at the right time...well do you ever think that perhaps they SHOWED UP to that one place many times? Perhaps, that person chooses to attend networking events 2-3 times a week, do you think that when the right time is on the calendar, that person is right there?

People ask me how I hear about cool events that I attend and how did I get to do this or that…I prioritize and make myself available for the events and people that I have wisely chosen beforehand. It’s a domino effect, I then meet more people in the right places at the right time. I also think of every encounter as a spiritual encounter, I don’t use people for what they can do for me. I believe that we are meant to meet each person to help, heal and grow each other. I can easily tell when someone is trying to use me or step on me to get “up the stairs”. No one wants to be a stepping stool.

Here are some VERY practical steps to living your dreams instead of talking about it:

“I want to travel one day”- Book a flight, it will only take 5 minutes via internet, then start saving up for it, trade nights out for your future booked trip.

“I want to write a book”- Start writing, even if it is not sequential, write 1 page a day.

“I want to buy a house”- research and talk to lenders about what you need to buy a house, talk to a real estate professional

“I want to find a partner”- don’t just sit on your couch night after night, go out, meet people, go online, do things you love to do and the right person will be there.

And more……..Oh yes, if you haven’t, please like my FACEBOOK PAGE: http://www.facebook.com/houseslady

Why We Should Throw Our Dreams Out The Window

photo-4

The new American dream is to live a lifestyle of passive income, travel, wealth, material goods….great gatsby?

But in the modern sense, how about 4 hour work week?

Don’t we all want that? Even if you work 9 to 5. This dream, this airy word (dream) has pressured people to feel like they are not enough.

“Well what’s your dream? What you don’t have one? You don’t want to be famous or to own 10 porsches and 3 houses right by the beach?” – you must be lazy, people think.

I am so happy because I realized this just yesterday, I have been trying to live my dreams, but slowly, unawares, slipping into small cracks of peoples’ expectations. What does it mean to be successful? We need to center ourselves daily.

It was in that moment of epiphany that I released and let go of all ties with goals, plans, time, dates……The whole be this or that by 30, 35…own a house, marry, have kids, so and so, it suffocates people to live for their own and other peoples’ expectations of what is socially accepted. Even if you have learned about the new “Self-employed”, “own a business”, “do what you love” concept, you are still under the impression that you have to thrive in your business within a few years, be able to travel, live a really extraordinary life and be happy all the time. Again, it’s all BS.

The key is to be content and accepting of who you are at all times of your life.

The key is to have fun and enjoy life wherever you are and whenever.

The key is not to wait to be happy, but decide to have fun wherever you go.

Don’t wait to find the right person to be happy. Don’t wait to find the right job or the right clients to be happy. Don’t wait for the paycheck or the deal to go through to be happy. Don’t wait another second beating yourself up and living in misery. Don’t wait to be a millionaire or have kids to be happy. Don’t wait to get out of a relationship to be happy. Don’t wait until your dishes are washed to be happy. Don’t wait another second being a miserable (excuse my language) ASS.

I created a new term- it is called “I don’t give a flying fuck”.

Most people live with a stick up their you know what because they are not living up to their own standards or expectations.

Creativity, ideas and productivity are ABUNDANT and ORGANICALLY flows out of our happiness, our joy for life. All this does not come when we are squishing the life out of ourselves because we are SO focused on WHAT WE DON’T HAVE and WHO WE’RE NOT WITH.

So please, do me a favor, please have fun wherever you are in life, LAUGH. People will love you, people will be excited to work with you.

And when you feel the expectation monster creeping in= just slap it in the face and say “I don’t give a flying fuck”.

And so it is 🙂
