How To Differentiate Your Business

I am really loving the Photofunia app on the Iphone, it creates pictures like these in seconds!

It has been awhile since I blogged, so I wanted to discuss DIFFERENTIATION in business. As you know, I am a Realtor that happens to have been in the Fashion Industry, Coaching Business and have done a plethora of things in my 25 short years.

How do you differentiate your BUSINESS?


1. BE authentic, BE yourself.

2. Know and Live Your Vision – This is a mission statement of what you want to be, achieve in life. What is the bigger picture, everyone has GOT to have 1!

Mine is to empower others to live the life they were created to live, so I live that throughout any careers or jobs that I ever had.

3. Get Away From Your Business to Gain Perspective– When you are stumped, sometimes you need to walk away from your problem in order to glean new perspective and solutions in a physically foreign location.

4. DON’T try to be like someone else! – Just because someone is doing something and they are succeeding DOES not mean that you are to do the exact same thing…people are different in work methods, learn to find your own pace and path.

5. Chase the PASSION, NOT the money– Chase your passion and you will grow in wealth, chase only the money, and you will fail because there is no passion to lead you.

6. Find a NICHE – If you are the GREAT niche, that is great…but REMEMBER one or two instance when you REALLY hit it off with that person. People who have similar commonalities tend to be YOUR target market. People who have personalities that meld well with yours might just be your target market. But you could totally target a market that is NOT like you, but loves to work with you because you SOLVE their problems.

In the end….simply BE authentic to your vision and humbly listen well to the needs and problems around you. Bite your tongue and tactfully tackle the problems with wisdom. That’s all for today!

What Is Your Definition of Freedom?

Define freedom. 

I am sure most Americans believe that they are free, free to FREE speech, free to be, and I also wonder how many people in this world long for true freedom within. The majority of humanity is longing for something more, whether it is happiness, freedom, peace. Even though we are given the human rights to speak up, to earn a living  and to be with whoever we want to be, do whatever we like and want, many are still living in FEAR, COMPROMISE, and CONFORMITY. 

When I was in my teenage years, I did not fit in and longed to fit in with all my heart. I tried hard, but to no avail. I was not meant to fit in and I accepted that. When I started creating my own opportunities in life, creating the life I wanted to live, I received a lot of criticism. 

The criticisms were either that I was NOT patient enough to sit at a desk from 9 to 5 or that I should JUST accept reality. This reality that people painted for me was not pleasant. I wondered why people would sacrifice their own happiness to conform to this dreadful reality. 

What is my definition of Freedom?

1. Freedom is knowing and accepting all of who you are and loving who you are created to be. It is listening to your desires and your ideas and allowing YOURSELF to be the fullest expression of who you were created to be. Many of us have abandoned our true desires and have tried to fit in to appease those around us.

2. Freedom is accepting others for who they really are, not for the expectations we have of them. It is loving them for who they are, but also understanding that you CANNOT change a person, you can only influence them. 

3. Freedom is letting GO of societal expectations and what people think of you. If you listen to yourself enough, you will hear the true desires in your heart versus the voices outside of you. When we embrace who we are, we start to walk in the fullest confidence of our being…we then no longer need peoples’ approval.

4. Freedom is LIVING out the fullest expression of who you are. The great thing about living in freedom is that you will start to meet like-minded people that speaks your language of vision and creativity. Live in the wisdom that comes with being you.

5. Freedom is ALLOWING yourself to fail to create something great. I have probably failed many times in my entrepreneurial career, but I never thought of them as failures….I thought of them as free education. I knew that every step was a step up, a puzzle piece fitting into the perfect picture that was to come 10, 20, 30 years down the line. 

6. Freedom is allowing yourself to be YOUR NAME _________________, and not the title the world has given you. Status is so important in America, it defines your worth. That is a lie that we have believed in, but need to replace with the truth of our worth in __________(your name). Our worth is infinite, beautiful, sacred. Our worth as human beings are spiritual, eternal. Today I connected with another entrepreneur and was so inspired by his story of building up his insurance business from scratch, in that moment, there was beauty….not because of what he had accomplished, but in the goodness that was in his actions and heart. I was impressed by the way he treated his employees and how he gave with an open heart, we need more goodness in this world! I believe it is because he has accepted the true desires of his heart to be a giver and a gift to the world.

How To Master Social Media

Social Media can be confusing, but after opening my Facebook account in college and conforming to THE WORLD of social media, I have learned a few things to make life more simple for you.

1. Master 1 or 2 Social Media– Just master 1 or 2 and you are fine. Don’t be overwhelmed by the amount of tumblrs, wordpresses, facebooks, twitters there are, simply find 1 or 2 you feel comfortable with and start with those! My top social media platforms are FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM. I am not great at twitter and recently just found out you can add hashtags to build your audience. If you add hashtags to instagram pictures, you will be surprised by the amount of people who will follow you just because of a few hashtags! (Hashtags are tags referring to a certain subject such as #trends).

2. Interact and LIKE other peoples’ Social Media– My mistake in the beginning of social media was to be completely obsessed with my own page. I kept waiting for people to like my posts, but realized, I needed to like other peoples’ posts and comment first. This builds engagement and interaction, people become interested you only if you are first interested in them. This is the LAW of the GOLDEN RULE. People are innately SELFISH and will not want to give first, go and give…..the return will be golden!

3. BE CREATIVE- Post IMAGES, FLYERS, AUDIOS, Think outside the box! I started using Hootsuite.com and auto-post everything to all my social medias, this way, my twitter audiences can also receive updates even if they do not have facebook. As a Realtor, I have access to programs that allow me to create fliers in minutes (I know, seriously unbelievable). 4. Be involved in EVENTS, CREATE A BUZZ – creating events on Social Media conveys to your audience that you are a MASTER of whatever industry you are in. They notice that you invited them and they also notice that you specialize in your field (for me, it is Real Estate and sometimes my other profession Fashion). After posting my event and inviting more than a thousand people, a friend messaged me and asked me about buying a house in the future. This occurred all because I was continuously posting, but also because I created a buzz through an event.

How To Set Boundaries

Are you stressed out trying to meet other peoples’ expectations? 
There is a difference between living in excellence and meeting other peoples’ demands which are rooted in their own negative energy.

In the end, we can only control ourselves and our own emotions and feelings. 
In this audio I talk about setting boundaries in your career, relationships and life. I was lucky enough to have read the Book Boundaries by John Townsend when I was young, this helped me to take blame and guilt off of me when other people tried to blame me. I also learned to live in freedom versus expectations of how others should be.

My first Podcast- How To BEGIN LIVING Your DREAMS

My first Podcast- the story is just bursting out of my heart that I cannot contain it ANY LONGER! This is only a short summary of what I went through to live my dreams. I hope you find inspiration and hope to ACT DESPITE YOUR FEARS!

Hi Everyone! I want to share my story with the world.

A lot of people ask me, how do I know where to begin? How do I know what I should do in life? How did you get to where you are today?

You see, I’m not where I want to be yet, but I am living the life I want to live now.

 Only 1% have the courage to make the entrepreneurial leap into success. It’s all about risk.

You see, 2 years ago, I quit my full time job after 9 months of stability. I felt like I was trapped in a cage. I had worked in the fashion industry for 4-5 years and wanted the normal job with health insurance. I thought that was the only way I could reach success. I would just climb my way up to the top and I knew I could.

However, the level of pain, suffering and death within me broke me.

I quit and never looked back.

When I quit my full time job, I used the money I had to travel to Australia for a month. When I came back, I was broke, but was inspired by street vendors who sold jewelry on the street. I started selling my own jewelry and it turned into a business.

In the beginning of my self- employed years, I ate a lot of rice and kale because I could not afford to buy groceries. I was late on rent and often suffered immense turmoil from struggling to find my way.

After traveling once more and going through some inner healing, one day I woke up and wrote down everything I was good at or had the abilities to do. I ended up writing down: cello, piano, writing, mandarin, sewing….etc…I posted on craigslist and started getting clients. I was really shocked at first, but felt blessed to know there was a FREE way to get clients.

This story is really just a small summary of what I went through…Iong story short I tried everything. I was on Let’s Make a Deal, I got to touch Wayne Brady on the shoulders, I worked in retail, had lots of shows, enjoyed free shows in Silverlake, diversified my skills and monetized everything I could.

Still, it was not enough. My boyfriend suggested I get into Real Estate and I started working in the industry last year. Today I am a life coach who helps unlock peoples destiny, a sewing instructor and a realtor. I have jewelry consigned with various local businesses and give back to the community by providing work for people.

My advice for people who are looking to start something new, don’t wait, don’t hesitate, just jump.

I get criticized a lot for my unconventional ways of doing things….for not doing things perfect sometimes or not using recycle paper to create my flyers and using bootstrap methods to create something grand out of nothing. But AT LEAST I TRIED, AT LEAST I put myself out there, and that has made ALL THE DIFFERENCE. I would not have started living my dreams if I didnt listen to my intuition and the ways of the universe. Don’t aim for perfect, aim for jumping already.
